Jose Ortiz is a CPA, Certified Tax Coach, and founder of The Scale Collective, a strategic tax advisory firm helping entrepreneurs, real estate investors, athletes, and high-earning professionals create clarity, build structure, and make proactive tax decisions.
Jose is also a 2025 Coach of the Year nominee with the American Institute of Certified Tax Planners, a recognition that reflects his commitment to proactive tax strategy, client education, and forward-thinking advisory work.
Jose brings broad experience across public, private, and government accounting, including time as an auditor. That background gives him a well-rounded perspective on financial systems, compliance, internal controls, business operations, and the importance of accurate, organized financial information. Today, he uses that experience to help clients move beyond reactive tax compliance and into a more intentional planning process that connects tax strategy with business decisions, investments, cash flow, and long-term wealth goals.

Before founding The Scale Collective, Jose worked as a lead accounting implementation specialist and advisor for a software company, where he helped business owners implement and optimize financial systems. That experience, combined with his accounting and audit background, shaped his belief that meaningful tax strategy starts with visibility, organization, and strong financial decision-making infrastructure.
Jose founded his firm in 2017 after seeing how commoditized accounting had become. He built The Scale Collective to offer a more proactive, thoughtful, and strategic experience for clients who want more than a once-a-year tax preparer. His approach is rooted in clarity, integrity, and long-term value.
Jose holds bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Business Management from Florida Atlantic University. He is also a technology enthusiast and avid lifelong learner, constantly exploring better ways to serve clients, improve systems, and connect strategy with execution.
He and his wife have been married since 2008 and have four beautiful children.
