God’s math doesn’t make sense (and I’m so grateful)

Tracy Latona

You know that feeling when God’s goodness hits you so hard you either need to fall back in your chair or go face down on the floor?

That’s me this week.

As we wrap up Q3, I’m looking at three things that have me absolutely undone:

1. Four brave women just joined my group coaching.

Third time’s the charm, y’all.

Attempt #1? Let’s call it “educational.” Attempt #2? God said “MOVE TO WEST VIRGINIA NOW” halfway through promotion. (His timing, not mine.)

But this time, something shifted in my soul.

God called me deeper than helping people budget and pay off debt. He said, “Help them BECOME the stewards I created them to be.”

We’re doing identity work at the deepest level yet.

And somehow, I get to be a tool in God’s toolbelt while having MORE time with my husband. (Still processing how that math works.)

2. My second-highest revenue month this year… during a hard season.

September brought heartache and loss. I needed to grieve.

Old Tracy would’ve panicked: “Take time off? But the BUSINESS!”

Instead, I rested and hit five figures anyway.

Proof that when you’re doing God’s work, it runs on HIS power, not your hustle.

3. Five years in business. Still here.

80% of small businesses fail by year five.

In August, we quietly crossed that threshold.

Here’s what those five years taught me:

Hard work ≠ more money. When I released the death grip on control and let God provide through ways OTHER than my effort, my business exploded. (Striving is overrated.)

I invested more in coaching than I’ll probably ever spend on a car. I hired Juliana Garcia in 2024 even when business was good because that nagging “you’re only scratching the surface” wouldn’t shut up. Best money ever invested.

My faith grew exponentially when I compared her teaching to scripture and asked, “What does the Bible ACTUALLY say about wealth, abundance, and who God created me to be?” (Hint: A LOT of money guilt and shame was released!)

Your business can support you while you live life. Six months in “maintenance mode” during our move. Still matching last year’s revenue with fewer hours.

God’s math > my math.

Get a wealth team NOW. Yes, I’m a financial coach who hired a bookkeeper/accountant. And re-hired my coach. Because momentum requires investment, not DIY everything. And why would I stop doing what’s working?

It’s God’s business, not mine. I’m HIS employee. The more I white-knuckle control, the more frustrated I get. My job? Show up, do the work, trust Him to provide.

Here’s what I see in the next 5 years, Lord willing: More revenue. Fewer hours. More time with my husband. More wild generosity at church. More time serving the Kingdom of God.

Because that’s what happens when you stop striving and start stewarding.

Your turn: What’s YOUR five-year reflection? (Or five-month, or even five-day—wherever you are in your journey.)

Hit reply and tell me. I read every response.
