Tips for Your Insurance, Finances, and Business

News. Insights. Analysis. Inspiration.

Today's Key Question:

Did you know that 25% of the people who buy life insurance want to use the policy benefit to support their favorite charity?

See the article below from Forbes.

"Before fleeing the city for the suburbs, think of the impact on your taxes, utility bills, maintenance costs — and your commute"

From Market Watch:

* Many city dwellers have taken a newfound interest in suburban and rural living as the coronavirus pandemic has transformed our daily lives and living spaces. Sales of new and existing homes have skyrocketed in recent months thanks to a combination of pent-up demand from the spring and city residents entering the market in search of more space.

But the price of the home and the interest rate you can get on a mortgage are just two of the financial factors that buyers need to consider before renting a U-Haul to live the suburban life. Here are five other factors to consider when calculating the cost of such a move:

"Companies pump up cybersecurity spending due to pandemic"

From Washington Examiner:

* Many companies are increasing their spending on cybersecurity in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with employees working from home a significant reason for the change, many cybersecurity experts say.

"The Lockdown Has Gone From a Mistake to a Crime"

From Townhall:

* "Covid is over in Sweden. People have gone back to their normal lives and barely anyone is getting infected any more. I am willing to bet that the countries that have shut down completely will see rates spike when they open up. If that is the case, then there won't have been any point in shutting down in the first place ... Shutting down completely in order to decrease the total number of deaths only makes sense if you are willing to stay shut down until a vaccine is available. That could take years. No country is willing to wait that long."

The lockdown is a crime. But even more upsetting is that it is supported by so many Americans. This country is unrecognizable to those of us who lived through the 1968-1970 pandemic, which killed, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 100,000 Americans -- the 2020 equivalent of 170,000 Americans. Nothing shut down. Not one mask was worn.

"How To Donate Your Life Insurance To Charity"

From Forbes:

* A life insurance policy also can allow you to leave a legacy—not just for the people you love but for organizations and causes that are important to you. That’s because a charity can receive the payout from a life insurance policy.

In fact, more than a quarter of Americans who own life insurance say that one of the reasons they bought a policy was to provide a charitable gift, according to a survey by LIMRA, a financial services research and consulting organization. And it can be a smart way to give.
